Fight Against Racism.....Derrion Albert

I felt the need to repost this because it saddens me that people are still fighting one another. Instead of fighting against each other, we should fight with together for a specific cause. There is too much negative going on in this world for us to continue to create negativity. The violence really needs to STOP!!!!

Fight Against Racism

We all live in a racist nation, but it is most terrible when the ones who are racist are of the same race.......
We are fighting one another.
We hate one another.
We don't help one another.
WHY???
But we want reparations and apologies.....but we don't appreciate what our ancestors fought for!!Come on people...the time is now!

His Reflection

His Reflection
This is the way Michael Jackson made me feel
He took a look @ the Man in the Mirror and knew there was a world to heal
We are a world filled with many races-not just Black or White
Will You Be There to Heal the World and work at it day and night?
Michael Jackson was that man, and he was BAD
He wanted all to Smile instead of being sad
With a Child's Heart, I got it together and told my worries to Beat It
He was the best, and everyone must admit
I Want You Back Michael cause I Just Can't Stop Loving You
I turn on your music to Rock With You
I will always Remember the Time during my Childhood, when I first heard you sing
I was thrilled, I must say music, yes, It's Your Thing
Just a Little Bit of You makes me want to Scream!
Looking Through the Windows of heaven now, you definitely beam (angel)
Although Gone too Soon, we Never Can Say Goodbye
We can only wish to look in the mirror and see the world through your eye(s)

Michael Jackson

When I heard the news about Michael's passing, I was stunned.

Initially it was just a rumor, as no one (media) confirmed his death. My sister's friend called her to tell her he died, and she then turned to the news and shouted, "OH HE DID DIE"......at that moment images from his concert came to my mind. Taking time to really read what was on the news at that moment, "Michael Jackson Hospitalized", I relaxed my mind thinking that he was a little ill and people were going to blow it out of proportion. I left the house and went to exercise, but when I finished I wanted to quickly return home to see if he was alright......when I met up with my sister she said a little boy told his Dad that Michael did die and my brother confirmed it with a voicemail message.
I was stunned and of course did not want to believe it. I also, in not wanting him to leave this earth, thought he could be faking the death. It is still unbelievable!!!

Forever King of Pop, forever #1, forever in my heart, forever loved!

He looked at the Man in the Mirror and Healed the World!!

Father's Day!

What is Father's Day?! Father's Day should be a time when we celebrate the men in our lives whether they are our brothers, step fathers, uncles, or any other man who takes care of their children or those whom they care for or love.

I appreciate the Fathers who take care of the children in their lives! I appreciate the men who do not expect gratitude because they are doing something they should be doing. It takes a great MAN to take care of his children (whether it is his child or not).

It is hard to find a MAN who will take care of his responsibility.
To those children in the world whose "fathers" are not around...........CONQUER the world regardless!!!

Father's Day

Why don't you appreciate and love your seed
You played under the sheets, now you have a mouth to feed
Oh, but you claim the baby is not yours
You just leave mother with child and walk through the door
Even though when you look in that child's eyes you see yours
That child goes on day by day
They wonder why the word daddy they can not say
Not having a daddy around does not stop that child from dreaming
He or she goes into the future forever succeeding
They know nothing can get in their way
Even if they don't have a father on Father's Day
What do you all think??

JUNETEENTH...Freedom

We have come a long way from slavery! How much has really changed?

I am very thankful to be "free" from slavery, but I still think about what our ancestors had to endure.

I wonder if they would be proud of our advancements.....pretty sure, but are they happy with the way we treat one another?

There are many who wish that we were still enslaved.....will you let that stop you or empower you?

Lets continue to do what is RIGHT!! Let us remember where we have come from and realize that we still have a ways to GO!!

A Letter From My Ancestor

Letter from My Ancestor

Have you taken time to understand where I came from?
Have you ever walked in my shoes?
It seems your anger isn’t justified because...
I didn’t ask to come to America;
you took it upon yourselves to kidnap me and others.
How would you feel if you were
taken and separated from your family?
Would you expect those who
kidnapped you to be angry and
upset with you, as if you did something wrong?
I don’t have anything against trees, but I never asked to hang with or from a tree.
I never asked you to help me stay warm by burning crosses in my yard!
Remember you brought me to America. You seem to have forgotten.
People of low self esteem. You had to keep me in a separate school because you were afraid that I
would have outsmarted you.
My people were bombed and killed because you were not smart enough to find sane ways to entertain yourselves.
BUT YOU HATE ME!!
I had to fight hard to vote and was beaten because I protested. You didn’t want me to vote because you were afraid of the changes I could make because of my one vote.
My vote could bring change, and with change comes power.
I understand your fear because once I gained strength and power I would move mountains.
All these years and I never saw a black president, but I never complained or hated anyone.
But you get mad at me, shouldn’t I be the one to get mad.
Walk in my shoes; how would you feel if there was never a White president for all of these decades, only Black presidents.
WOW...makes you think!
Mountains are being moved because I have strength and power!
Things are changing. HOPE HAS WON!
